Non LTS tyres

Post by meatball » Sat Jul 21, 2007 9:21 am

I'm going to get some A048 rears from Ronnie who says they are the non LTS ones, medium compound.

Will I notice a difference?

Ed says no!

Nope.

I'm on SS front and LTS rear, and strangely, the fronts are fine, while I've been through a set of rears already....

i have to run M compound tyres all round for the LOTRDC series, and they wear out VERY quickly.

I used to run M front and MH rear and could get a decent amount of time out of a set.

Wear is down to alot of things, like driver, power, temperature road/track use etc etc. What car is it for and what do you use it for?? i.e 111S for road or exige for track????

Agree with Neil, don't get the Mediums, they're too soft and will wear out in no time.

Ok.....problem time......wheels around can only get medium compound yokos......which the majority say will wear out too quick!

MMC are also waiting on stock!

And my tyres are just about gone!

HELP!

Not quite, 48's have slightly more ultimate grip but the R888's are cheaper and last longer. Without sounding cheeky, if you haven't done any trackdays you are not going to notice any difference for a while yet

I prefer the R888's anyway as they are more progressive and bit not as likely to just let go on the limit as the 48's.

Fine on the road although I dont push it hard in the wet.

On track I thought they were pretty good in the wet.

Bloody amazing.... did my Walshy day in the wet on 888's. If your gentle the grip is amazing.

One thing he did say that surprised me was that a set of 888's when locked up slows you down better than a set of T1r's when locked up. Its harder to tell when a set of 888's has locked under hard braking as the retardation is almost the same.

Very impressed, had a "quick" run with them round Dukes pass in the wet/damp and the grip was quality.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....
