Car was really warm on Friday.
The throttle wouldn't close properly, sticking about 2000rpm. A sharp blip cleared it and it settled at its usual speed.
I firstly cleaned the Idle Air valve.
Secondly, looked at the butterfly - it seems to catch, ever so slightly, just where it should be shutting. It still has a plastic body. I gave it a good clean, touch of grinding paste and a cloth and it seems to be better.
However, if it was to continue occuring what are the views on solving the problem? (I don't want it happening at 4000rpm etc!)
I suspect the plastic body is warping slightly with heat?

before you go spending money on throttle bodies try looking at where the cable connects to the back of the accellerator pedal.
We had the same problem and the solution was here.
The cable sheath was not in the socket properly and was causing the cable to stick. Put some lube on it ie grease and then put the cable sheath back into the socket properly. If it is tight then a small amount of slack can be got by pulling it out form under the centre console.
it is easier to look by lying in the passenger side footwell.
