it is flat in 6th through the compression in my car, it obviously loses speed as you turn (i presume due to tyre resistance :?: ) and due to the incline on the other side

i read a thread on http://www.northloop.com forum the other week that said you can through the left hander after foxhole compression without braking. I think i will take a while to build upto that.

The tyre resistance is what makes the car turn. The energy use (and thus loss of speed) is to rotate the car - but in any case the majority of speed lost is in the uphill section on the other side. Soren crashed his M3 at that point in the circuit after he turned off traction control :-( That would imply to me that the corner is probably not flat ... but if you lift somewhere on the uphill section, and get the car to turn in, that would scrub off speed and perhaps that is enough to not require breaking too? I won't be trying it in a hurry :-)

I think we only went upto 140 that time Robin, and it was in Germany, though not actually on an Autobahn.

I was actually thinking of Spain when the Turbo Porsche overtook us, and I was dozing off, so followed him. Followed of course by me finding out that I had left my bum bag at the lunch restaurant, and having to do a return trip of 300kms to get back to square one.

Not sure if you are still yet ready to laugh at that day even three years later.

ps wish that I had kept the text that you sent me to get out of the Country and back to the ferry ASAP, but I deleted it as ordered<BG>

LOL - I thought you and Ian hit the limiters that day - obviously not ;-)

You were one lucky barsteward that day in Spain - had they caught up with you, you might well still be there now :-)

Cheers,
Robin
