Co emissions

Post by vet111s » Sat Aug 11, 2007 2:32 pm

MOT fail is leading me (and Ali at SLS) to investigate raised emissions (CO level consistantly @ 5%). Initial thought is O2 sensor which is apparently a female dog to replace. Then read a thread linking increased CO emissions to HGF? Car seems to be running fine, is HGF always catastrophic or can it be subclinical?

Cheers Ali

It's easier to change the CO sensor than it is to do a HGF.

Go for the cheap option (it's not your knuckles after all<sorry>) and hope that make a difference.

Change CO2 sensor. If it's anything like the S1, a wee blowtorch is an invlauable tool (if it's not too close to anything flammable - mine is out the way as I've got a 4-2-1 manifold)

If its got a standard crap rover manifold be prepared for a real fight.. I had to remove my manifold before I could snap the old lambda sensor off...

They are 4 wire sensors about £15 on flea bay :thumbsup

Cut the wires off and put a socket on it.
