Run Time with no Alternator
Run Time with no Alternator
Anybody know how long an elise will run with no functioning alternator, not using lights/heater etc with a fully charged battery ?
May need to recover a car some distance with a dead alt . . .

Was getting at least 1/2 an hour on FF this year but that was not fully charged (just some time on the jump leads). I think tut reckoned closer to 2 hours when fully charged.

I would bank on 20A running just the engine.
I think the elise batteries are sort of 40Ah? So I would guess 2H would be the max; we did Nurburgring to Zeebrugge with Tut's car on no alternator and I don't think we stopped more than twice to boost charge it across jump leads from a running car for ~30 mins at a time.
Cheers,
Robin
