If they're anything like my fronts, you'll need a good sledgehammer to get them off!

Sledgehammer??!?? More like semtex!

Donkey, i've got a set of lightly used ones if you're looking for some? Might need a light skim to be serviceable....

We finally got finished around 1am, one person using the weapons of mass destruction while the other was keeping a lookout for panda cars waiting to serve us a noise ASBO.

Brakes work a bit better today though - pad material grips the disc much better than the backing plate did

Looks like i owe a lot of people beer and drill bits now

 Sorry i had to leave so early but as my only contribution was to drink dom's coffee and say "ooh that looks difficult" i didn't think i'd be missed !

Glad you eventually got it sorted :thumbsup

(for those not aware of how f*cked his discs were, i was checking for a lip and declared "i've seen worse" before i was told the discs used to have grooves in them   )

boiling water ( not kettle but boiling ) slowly poured over will help break the bond beware they will be hot
becarefull as using a hammer excessivly can dammage the rack and bearings ect the rack has a wee plastic cup thats easily broken

It was the wee hex head disc retaining bolt that was the (main) problem.... I'm convinced its made from some kind of krytonite derivitive!

Had to drill it out. Swearing was involved. Angle grinders came later!
