Yours is prob one of the few that's been round the globe twice on the same engine Rob
Yup - 54k and counting - the equator (according to wikipedia  ) is only 24,901.5miles - so yup twice round the globe and still going! :D
You done the cambelt yet rob?? 66000 on the original was pushing my luck a bit ;)

alternator.. easy.. go onto ebay.. get a kubota alternator and have a custom bracket made up and save yourself a bundle :) and super light also

While on subject on dead alternators

How do you change one on an S2 as krishnans alternator i think has gone to the place of darkness as it no chargy the battery and the battery is fine

There looks to be zero access from above so i guess it has it come out via the wheel arch or something stupid, damn silly cramped plastic cars

Yup, drivers side wheel arch out and you'll get some access. I would highly reccomend an 8mm ratchet spanner for the adjuster bolt on the bottom bracket. When i said you get "some access" i chose my words carefully ;)
