Fitted the front hub back on at lunch time (with new wheel bearing) but bent the splash guard slightly. Spent about 10 mins trying to bend it back, thought I had it, until I drove to work and heard a sound like dragging a sheet of aluminium under the car
Do I even need the feker?
Is it held on with little alen key screws or are they rivets? If they're screws then the head has long since corroded. Will have to drill em I guess
Read summin on seloc archive saying that without the guard they can bee like mmc's in the wet?! Don't know it that makes much sense tho.
cheers

Scott Ive run without mine for ages,as has tut with no probs. I think they were put on originally to reduce the drastic effects of wet mmc's. Mine were so corroded that on one side it actually came away scuffing on the disc. Cheers Craig.

Don't think I every had any.
They were important in stopping waterlogged discs with MMC setup as they discs just don't get hot enough quickly enough to dry out.

Cold wet mmcs, shudder if you do lots of mway stuff. Brown pantage on the autoroute one late night dodging trucks in the rain. Anything helps. Inf Fact Mbenz copied my patented dipping of the brakes every 10 mins to dry heat the brakes slightly. Think it is worth a small claims court bid Gregg ?

Cool, will nip home at lunch time an rip the feker off, probably gonna have to drill out (Edit: angle grind

) the screws holding it tho

On the plus side the car will be about 150g lighter = result!
