You can either fit an S1-type stepper motor with yet more loom butchery or you can fit throttle bodies which don't typically require an IACV for idle control.

I'm in tonight if you want to pop over and borrow my spare K4 ECU ... afraid I am busy for the rest of the week, though, so cannot help you install/test it.

Cheers,
Robin

Robin,

I'd be keen on one of the loom things - as you know it's on my list for things to do to Mandy's car.

I'm just wondering if Andy would be better off using my kit - or will that come in hand for the loom work?

Robin, I'll call you after work and arrange to come over, thanks :)

Mac, what's the 'other solution' you've got? :?

Cheers

I've got the original piggy back loom and ecu that came with the PTP kit that you can use in the mean time.

ECU arrived at Emerald at 9am this morning, by 4.45pm it was on its way back repaired and upgraded!! :cheers

Robin, hopefully it will arrive at my work tomorrow and I'll try it out with your loom over the weekend :D

Cool.

I am getting there on the board. Have the footprint of the main ECU connector sorted (I hope!). I'm up to pin 53 out of 80 on mapping connections back to the emerald. Seems as though there are some, err, idiosyncratic choices in what is connected to what - am going to compare against the latest S2 wiring recommendations from Emerald - I suspect they've moved on a bit since the PCB was produced.

Should finish it this weekend, then get boards done in 5 days, so should be back sometime the following week - ready for a trial fitment next again weekend - fingers crossed :-)

I had to upgrade my PCB layout tool as it refused to do more than 4"x3" PCBs and the connector is nearer 6" wide!! Cost me a massive 75 quid plus the VAT (cheap as these things go!).
Cheers,
Robin

The ECU turned up at my work before 10am this morning, full turnaround from posting off to getting it back in less than 48 hours - awesome! :thumbsup 10 out 10 to Emerald - cheers guys :D

Good news Robin, let me know if there's anything you need me to do :)
