Winter Stonechips:( - touch up paint

Post by Jamie84 » Sun Feb 10, 2008 9:25 pm

I gave my car a proper clean today , first wax since beginning of winter . I have noticed the full effect of using a lotus as an everyday car through out the winter :( Unbeleivable amount of stonechips on front clam .

So I have a chrome orange touch up stick ...is there a proper method in applying this or do I just blob it on ?

A touch up only really works for 1 or 2 chips.... if you use it on loads of chips it'll probably stand out more than if you just left it - best to get a respray, or just leave it as you'll constantly be fighting a losing battle.

Thanks for the advice , pile up would be ideal then I could have both front and rear clams done as both need fixed ! :D

Blobbing it is for now, dont want to respray it just yet , will wait till ready to sell.

also just noticed dent in the mesh at front , like a fairly big stone has hit it . Going rusty now were its chipped the paint . Cant wait till spring is here to really sort the whole car !
