Yes, that's the one.
I ahvn't got round to pullign anythign aprt yet- 3 week old baby and all that good stuff,

Fair enough, but if you want it working for Friday you'll need to get a move on

I thought that the link bar was a ball-and-socket affair that could just pop off, but perhaps it's a wee nut on a thread - either way, should just be 10 minutes in the lotus position
Good luck!

See my trackday write up on the diagnosis of this, going to have to do a full stripdown of the pedal box methinks, bollcoks

I had (have) similar symtoms on mine... eventualy traced it to a cracked pivot spacer at the top of the arm allowing the arm to move over by about 5mm at the top.. now held firmly back in place with industrial tiewrap of the righ width it has worked faultlessly for two years....
I had intended to strip down the box and replace all the pivots but I needed a quick fix to get me by and it worked a treat so didnt bother.
part no.6 had sheared off... head of tie wrap the same size...
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

You also need to check that the small metal U shaped bracket, no 67, has been upgraded.
The original was very thin and snapped on N1 at K/H, the new one is thicker.
I have forgotten how I got the car back to Robins, the first mod did not work, but his second one did.
One of them was setting the idle at 4000rpm and trying to use just 2nd and 5th gears.

There is certainly leteral play in the throttle pedal, interestingly i made a concerted effort to push it more to the right and it seemed to help it, makes sense to think its the left hand bush of that part 6 that is goosed!
I want to do ethe SIDC day so need to get a bend on and get it sorted
Tut i had part 67 out yesterday in the paddock- the rivot fell whilst i was rooting around undere there,

i managed to blag a wee nut & bolt from one of the resident garages and after an hour under there i manged to fix it, that bit seems fine now
And to think i got rid of a TVR for mechanical maladies

I know that you are adept on working on the car yourself, but you can not afford to have problems like that screwing your trackdays etc up.
You have bought a hard used road car that has been racing all year, so it needs sorting.
I still think that if you can not be sure of sorting it out yourself, then ask Ali to look at it.
