just out of curiousity... fuel pump priming

Post by r055 » Mon Mar 03, 2008 9:29 pm

really stoopid Q... :?:

when you get into your car, insert key and turn it to realise that you havent disarmed the immobilisor, then you press the fob button, and skip the fuel pump priming (whirring) process, would this do any harm?

I do this from time to time, but just wondered if it actually done any harm in the long run as the priming is obviously there for a reason...

Not a problem if there's still pressure in the fuel rail. Worst case will be it either doesnt start or runs like the proverbial sick pig for a few seconds until pressure builds up.

Cheers,
