Is it OK to have AD07's at the front and RE040's at the rear?
Just bought a flat and don't have the cash to splash out on 4 new tyres?

When they are bedded in your car should have more grip at the front than the rear (when dry and the opposite when wet)......unless I'm wrong????
=oversteer in the dry and understeer in the wet?????
Similar to my 48's on the front and R888's on the rear.

Rob
If the car feels OK, then the combination should be OK. Main thing is to have the same tyres on the same axle.
I have used 48R's on the front and Stunner Scudos on the rear, about as extreme a combination as you can get, and they were fine on the road, but would not repeat on the track again.
I have around 20 used tyres in the bike shed, and I can not justify using 48R's all the time, so I use them up, but always in matched pairs.

With your driving talent you'll hardly notice a difference.

Personally I think it will make the car tend to oversteer more (or should that be understeer less given it's an S2?)
Just don't push it and you should be fine <insert fingers crossed smilie here>

Simply buy 2 AD07s for the rear? The fronts will prolly have lots of life left in them I presume?

So what tyres are you running front-back at the moment, and what's the tread? Is your proposal to mix based on buying any tyres?

Top tyre mixing advice. I know that it is for an ADO16 but that's pretty much the same as an Elise isn't it?

Good drift technique too.

you'll be fine.
appraoching the limit, you'd expect the front to hang on better than the rear, but thats once your are starting to push things. On the road i doubt you'd notice much of a difference
