Have just taken out the original mats and scrapped all the floor, luckily no major corrosion. I was just wondering do you paint anything on to the floor before putting the new removable mats down.
cheers

Re: s1 Floor
hi, theres a anti-corrosion spray that we use at MMC when doing the floor mods.
Re: s1 Floor
Or just leave it, ali without crappy rubber mats is just fine, it was just the unfortunate choice of rubber that caused it.

Re: s1 Floor
So the rubber causes the corrosion, a car with carpet is fine even if it is kinda corroded looking...?

Re: s1 Floor
Will just leave the ali bare for now, but at least now i can bale the water out and mop up the rest
Re: s1 Floor
IIRC the rubber mats were trapping the salt & water brought in off ur feet, carpet lets it breath and dry out. So yup, you'll be fine.Corranga wrote:So the rubber causes the corrosion, a car with carpet is fine even if it is kinda corroded looking...?
