bulb replacement?

Post by ninja » Sat Mar 08, 2008 4:57 pm

sorry to be asking such a very basic question but do i seriously need to take my front wheel off to replace the headlight bulb?

my dip bulb is dead and the owners manual talks fo removing 3 wing nuts and pulling the headlight unit out. but i've not got any wing nuts. i've got a couple of bolt heads that i can see in the wheel arch but i can barely see them let alone actually get to them with the wheel still on.

is this a normal wheel off operation?

Nah,

If you can reach those wee knurled nuts then that's fine (sometimes it helps to turn the wheel the wrong way)

Once they are loose then you remove the lens and replace the bulb from the outside.

No need to take the wheel off!
Turn the wheel - then undo the 3 bolts - flat headed screwdriver ( or a 1pence piece) then pull headlamp cover off !

Easy

Even the most technically inept ( i.e. me) can do it !

Cheers
