Today on start the EPC and engine management lights came on on my VW POLO . After restart the EPC light went out leaving the management light on . The light comes on straight away . Both lights happened before and pulling the fuses out fixed it about a year ago, not this time. There is a sensor on the side of the throttle body 039 906 051 which when unplugged delays the light coming on . edit: a search says its a manifold pressure sensor used on Porche injection systems Richard ?????? Also when tapped it brought on the EPC light .
Anybody got a VW fault code reader ? I am in the AA will they come out and read the faults if the car is drivable?
Or any ideas ? I cannot access VW forum on my work computer.

Re: Polo Engine management light NLC
My Porker cam with K-jetronic fuel injection now has home brew EFI, I have no idea about proper sensors, mine came of a Mondeo!
I would find a scrappie and swap some sensors about....

Check out VAGCOM (I have a registered version with a proper CAN/HEX interface cable), you'll need a lead for it but easily available on ebay for a tenner or less.
I would have helped out but not going to be in country for a few weeks . . .

But its fixed or should I say its gone away for now. I read somwhere you need to disconnect the battery for 45 minutes to clear the codes . So i left the battery disconnected all last night and hey presto its gone , panic over .

Re: Polo Engine management light NLC
The VAGCOM version you need depends on the lead you have . . . there is a free (limited but not crippled) version on the suppliers website - google is your friend.
If it's gone for now then I'm sure it will come back . . . just a matter of when . . .
I'll be back in the country in a couple of weeks so if required can scan it then . . .
