if you look at the seloc link above, there is a comment by a guy who knows the car and says it's not too bad.

same post says LAD conversion is head porting (not cams) so head gasket could have been put in then.

That sounds very like Scottys Elise that he sold in October 2004, and StephenM said that it had been bought from an owner in Scotland.

Number plate is not showing but it was V56 GLF.

Scotty will probably come along, but I think the original colour was Atlantis Blue but I have also seen it stated as Atlantic Blue pearlescent paint.

It may be that it has been resprayed in the original colour.
