Thats a tough one. At first I thought it was a knock, then I convinced my self it was a rattle and now am not sure. I think there is something loose toward the top of the brake pedal but there again it could be on the other side of the bulkhead :?:

its got me flummoxed

Still havin fun tho :D

Possible common options are actually brake pads rattling in the calipers and anti-roll bar bushes. Both can sound like they are in the footwell.

Who'd have thunk it. A few heavy stamps on the brakes and the knocking noise seems to have disappeared. will monitor the situation closely

Might be worth posting this as a new thread?

I'm off to see my 'beloved' Unipart 'stealer' lunctime armed with pictures and the Lotus parts manual but I'll guarantee they won't find it without a Rover part number, however I would love to be proved wrong :thumbsup

YCB100420 is the number I've got,

What I meant was that you'd have got more of a response if you'd posted it up as a new thread, as opposed to tagging it onto the end of an old one, that's all.

:cheers Shug!!!
If I fail to get a result lunchtime I'll post a new thread.
The wonky sender has been on my 'to do' list for yonks.
However the coolant level has suddenly taken a nose dive so while I am in amongst it with the spanners and the grazed knuckles I am gonna sort the sender at the same time, but thats only after reading the umpteen threads on related subjects :?
Thanks again
