Post by 111Robin » Sun Apr 06, 2008 5:34 pm

Anyone know where I can get a simple, old style plastic tax disc holder with the Lotus emblem ?. Nothing on t'internet except funcy alloy ones that look a bit too Max Power for my liking.

I got a neat magnetic one (magnetic bit sticks to window and cover is held on magnetically) with Lotus logo on ebay.

Thanks Campbell, I had looked at those but really just want a plain old "beer mat" style PVC holder, even just a plain one would do. I'll have a look in Autoparts in Inverurie but they're purveyors of chav stuff so probably only have ones with blue neon lights on them.

Sounds like a bog standard garage-issue one with a Lotus roundel sticker shlapped over the top is what you really need! Club Lotus had sheets of these stickers at the show last weekend, typical!

Pop into MMC and ask for one? Ok, it's not plain, but it shouldn't look out of place in the car...?

it wouldn't be so bad if they gave less of the shop over to the Max Power stuff.

Their tool section is pretty good (streets ahead of Halfrauds), Franklin, Sealey etc., I could (have) spent hours working my way along the various racks. Plus they've got every conceivable Autoglym (and Meguiars) product, a polishers heaven. I guess they have to cater for the neds too, there are certainly plenty in Inverurie!

I know exactly what you mean, the simple clear, round old skool type without any fekin nonesense like 'MMC are Great' 'Halfrauds' etc.
If I could find one, a nice printed paper Lotus logo slipped down that back and the job would be a good un! Sadly I just ainst seen any holders like that since about 1982 :) Let me know if you have any luck! I have the ali tat, it's fairly simple i.e. way better than an MMC ad, but is a pain to stick to a curved windscreen after the original sticky pads wear out.

Aye Scott, that's the kind I'm looking for. The MMC one covers half the windscreen and the various ali ones look chav IMHO. Even an old style plain one would be better. You used to see loads in garages/motor factors. I thought maybe one of the classic Lotus owners clubs might have them, worth a try I guess.

I don't see a Lotus one on here ??

I've been looking for one of these myself. Pistonheads (I think) road tested a car a while back and it had one so I knew they must be available somewhere, never been able to track one down though.

The Lotus one isn't shown on the site but just email them your request. They confirmed they do the Lotus emblem, ordered mine Friday.
