Broken Window

Post by JMB29 » Sat Apr 19, 2008 5:27 pm

It started a few months back when my drivers side window became slightly stiff when trying to wind down. That developed into intermittent not winding down at all and has now progressed into just not winding down period.
Had the door panel off but cant see any obvious problem but figured out that when the window was fully wound down, it was free running up to about 3/4 of the way up then seemed to hit a snagging point. At this point the window becomes extremely stiff for a short time then seems to get over it and free run again up to the top. On the way down he window doesnt want to get over his snagging point at all.
Has anyone experienced this before or thinks they know what it might be?

Cheers,

Jamie

hello m8y , I had a similar problem few months back with my leky windows . Turns out it was a loose screw in at the part next to the wing mirror . If you wind the window fully down then look at that part you might see the screw I am on about . It is a countersunk number , prob so the window can pass by , it but mines was hanging out .

Bit of a Pain in the arse to screw back in if i remember , involved screwdriver with glue on the end.
