HELP!!!

Post by bazzam111 » Tue May 13, 2008 9:05 pm

Anyone know a good (fibreglass) body repairer :?:
Some nice lady with a towbar reversed in to my pride and joy in Tesco's car park
Front is a mess, split front clam, hairy stuff everywhere - but on the plus side she did wait for me to come back and owned up :thumbsup
Don't think this will be cheap :protest
S1 'Std' Azure Blue (well nearly standard......)
Disco D4 (shiney spec)
Defender 90 (dirty spec)

The last thing that you want is for it to be repaired.

The claim will come from her Insurance Company, who will also cover your excess, so get a proper job done including a new clam.

S1 Azur Blue 111s - It's not you is it Hobbs?

sorry to hear about the bump.
i used George at Inverurie Body Shop to fix a 'minor' indiscretion at the start of the year but that was a replacement clam/chrash structure job. They put any major glass work to PPs (next door).

But i'm with Tut on this - if it's an insurance job then, particularly her insurance - new clam!!

Yes Alex it is/was me. :wave
Took it in to Kinghorn today who were confident that they could do a good job without the need for a new clam.
Apparently they have 'done' about 6 Elises this year so far so somebody on here must have used them.
The guy at Kinghorn did tell me they were all S2's and the fibreglass seems a bit thicker on the S1 v S2.
He spotted straightaway that it was a 'tow ball' job that hit the front 'cos of the way the split is localised.
Certainly seemed to know what he was talking about but would still like to know if anyone has used them :scratch
Deffo an insurance job, spoke to the husband to night who gave me all his insurance details, very decent chap and must say it is very refreshing to see their are still some honest people in the world :thumbsup

Nae luck Barry, saw you yesterday morning. (wasn't in the Elise - it was my neighbour's turn to drive.)
only saw the car from the back as you passed so didn't see damage. Mind you, I did think you looked grumpier than normal. :chainsaw

hope you get it back on the road soon. you don't want it to be out of action at this time of year.

If it's definately an insurance job - no arguments - you want a new clam :thumbsup

I have used Kinghorn in the past for my Porsche's. Hold on to your wallet if you use them. First rate job, accomponied by first rate prices. If it turns out to be an insurance job then deffenately put it there as there work is second to none in the NE.
