Agra Dundee

Post by Mikie711 » Mon May 12, 2008 10:23 pm

After talking with QED, and on their recommendation I spoke at length with one of the guys at Agra engineering in Dundee today, they would appear to be able to offer an extensive machining service. Next time home I will be starting work on my "race engine". Getting them to machine the small ends & con rods, supply bearings and liners, deck the block for stand proud and balance the clutch, fly wheel, crank, rods and pistons.
All in all an extensive (expensive) work list. Has anybody used Agra or have any recommendations or comments on the work they do.
Don't want to make any potentially expensive mistakes with the build, hopefully do it right first time.

Not used them myself but a friend of mine used them to do the machining on his race spec A series engine for his mk1 cooper S. 140bhp at the flywheel.. from a 1380cc A series... works for me.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

I'm pretty sure Agra built Lawrence's 1.8K race engine bottom end for him. He didn't have any issues with that AFAIK.

Cheers,

Agra did Graeme Lovies head for him on his S1 Elise.

Around 180hp with T/B's and Emerald, and it looked like a good job of work.

I have never used or personally know anyone that had used them, but I do know that they have been around for years and years, probably at least 30 I know of. I am sure I have heard my dad talking about them doing hillman imp engines and escort rally car engines. Can't be too bad if they have survived this long.

Agra are just down the road from me, and I know John Fyda the boss :thumbsup

If you were to meet John, you'd happily put your pride & joy in their hands - their experience is second to none

Oh, and google "John Fyda" 8)
