S1 Rear pad changeout

Post by offshorematt » Fri Apr 21, 2006 1:40 pm

The S1 service notes say you need a special tool to wind back in the pistons when changing the rear pads. Are they right? Or is the Podger (in this case the big flat head screwdriver with the smashed handle) completely adequate?

a set of long nose pliers should do it, although lawernce has a toll that ali used last week that looked soooo much easier.

Yup, dead easy with Lawrences tool (phnaarr) and no risk of seal damage. Most difficult thing was getting the tool off after winding back the piston!

Cheers for the info but I cheated and got my mate to throw them on while he was doing the wheel bearings. Maybe next time...
