not got one yet woody, and never changed them, but always willing to find out (usually the hard way)
surely the likes of dan and ali dont buy theres from elise parts though. i know its probably trial and error so i suppose as long a the motor factors accept that and you dont mind travelling to and fro then i suppose you could save some pennies

Ross

As Woody says, make sure that you buy the correct ones, ie from Geary or Yvo. Don't get them from eBay.

I actually have a brand new set of 8 from Geary that Mark was going to fit to N3 as insurance for French Frolics, Stelvios etc, but as I will not be doing these anymore, only local Trackdays, and mine seem fine, I probably will not now fit them.

Let me know if you are interested.

:? Mad, is it worth it to save a few quid? I would far prefer to buy the right ones first time no hassle for peace of mind.

Aye, but when you're talking about getting them for half the price of what Geary charges (if you have mates with trade discount) then it's quite a few quid, spread over 8 balljoints. Some of us ain't drowning in money you know....

Not sure how this would be i.e. easier to loosen over time by itself, but I know the bolts are torqued up pretty tight on the pumps in my work to withstand the 700+ bar of pressure with the rocol and wont cause them to unlossen.
Rocol, J166? It is just copaslip really.

Have you got the lock-nut undone? If you have, as above a couple of sets of mole-grips rumped right up, and failing that get some heat onto it.
Good question, tins of it are never clean enough to read that sort of info! Its grey/silver in colour and I just know it as rocol or anti seisure lubricant.

Very likely the same stuff as bostik 'never seize' which is an aluminium/copper anti seize lube (which I use) which resists even exhaust manifold temperatures for years without stopping working (that really is impressive) . . . a lot better than regular copper slip but also a lot more expensive . . .

As for wishbone balljoits . . . I've always used QH ones (not equivalents) and they always fit and are always the same . . . equivalents are not always the same and I would recommend not buying them . . . I can say this only on the experiece of changing many sets over the years . . . are they really any different from the 'special' ones people will sell you for twice the price ? . . . I have to say I am very sceptical . . .
