Std vs Stage 1 Exhaust - how to tell?

Post by grittle » Sun May 04, 2008 10:26 pm

I've had my 111R for just over two weeks. How do I tell if it has the standard exhaust? My pal has a 111S with a Stage 1, and he reckons my exhaust is noisier than his and therefore not standard.

Help/advice appreciated

Thanks JJ

Bit hard to tell. If I can get a look at the silencer box that should confirm it

Are you going deaf?

Yes
No
Pardon?

If 'pardon', then it's a Stage 2

What was that Shug?

The Cat I have a part share in ONLY JUST passed the SVA test - 109.9dB and the legal limit is 110dB but I find the noise from it more liveable with than the 111R.

Maybe it is the noise rather than the volume that makes the Cat more bearable. Also don't want any insurance problems as and when if the exhaust isn't standard and I've not told 'em.

I'll stick a pic up, and you can all have a laugh at a newbie

I'll stick a pic up anyway, but talking to Graham Robertson this morning confirmed it as a Stage 1. Mystery over.

hi Richard

was good to meet u on Saturday.

As for your 111R's exhaust - am pretty sure its a 2bular exhaust.
deffo not stage 1 - and not quicksilver.
Might be a larini - not seen that for a 111R.

hope you enjoyed the road home!

Cheers

Phil

Good to meet you too. Hope you get back into Elises asap. I did a 190 mile round trip and enjoyed every minute.

This is a pic of the exhaust - I'm still curious as to what it is - I thought a Stage 1 - but looks like I could be wrong.

At least I know for sure it is not a standard exhaust :D

Its not a lotus exhaust or quicksilver. Maybe a 2bular or larini???

I'm guessing 2bular

Looks a lot like the exhausts on http://www.2bular.com/Exige.htm

They are 3" diameter, rolled edge and cut at a slant

Thanks JJ

Why did you go with the 2bular? Is there any more power? Certainly it is louder
