Can a MIL Light Eliminator be used on another car, NCL

Post by ABZ-Elise » Tue Jun 03, 2008 6:08 pm

One of my mates has fitted a performance exhaust and de-cat to his Mini Cooper S and because its got a lambda before and after the CAT its put the light on the dash on and its running like a bag of sh!te.

I suggested fitting one of the MIL light eliminators that you get from eliseparts http://www.eliseparts.com/shop/index.ph ... cts_id=406 ...would that work for a mini???

Sorry for the lack of loti content :D

Theoretically, yes - but there's plenty of mini specialists on the web - perhaps they do something specifically for the Mini? Would be tempted to check out that route before introducing unknown elements to the loom of a car...

The post cat sensor shouldn't make it run like a bag of sh*t :?: :?:

I used one of the universal sims from this site on the VX

This is the mini specific sim

Im with Jon.. :!: The car should run fine even though the MIL is on..

I had one on my cooper s and it didn't effect a thing. Finally took it to a bmw specialist who sorted it out for me. Sounds like something isn't working somewhere :|

Cheers for the help! i've passed on the info.

It was fine when it just had the exhaust fitted, but as soon as the manifold & decat was fitted there was no torque and the light came on :? If my mate damaged any of the lambda sensors when he swaped them over to the decat pipe, would that cause any problems?

Maybe its just the fact that the cat is missing? Lot of back presure can be lost on those things... And IIRC mine didn't have a whole lot of torque (that I remember) in the first place, and that was with the JCW kit
