Brake Pedal Rattle

Post by Mikie711 » Thu Jul 03, 2008 10:17 pm

I have really annoying rattle coming from the brake pedal. It seems to be the push rod that is rattling not the pedal. Have set an re-set the preload but still it persists. Wondering now if backing it off will stop it. Any suggestions........

Sure it's not the bolt under the pedal? I've had this on every Lotus i've had I think.

Just crawl under and tighten it. Job done :D

The rattle goes away with gentle pressure on the pedal but not if you just put your foot on it. Pretty sure it's not the bolt as it comes and goes, sometimes it's quite load sometimes not!!.

is it definitely the pedal?

My pads rattle in the calipers, touch the brakes, even slightly, and the noise stops.

I have anti-rattle pads, just too lazy to go and fit them!

...sounds like the same rattle that I suffer. Haven't found a way to stop it yet :(

Worth checking that the footresty thing in the middle isn't rattling too.

:thumbsup
