. . . best to actually read the regs before ripping anything out . . . you may find you invalidate the car for the very classes you wish to enter . . .

Road legal needs to have the std interior fitted... but harness is recomended and you cant safely fit a harness without a seat designed for one. so I asume changing the drivers seat to one suitable and keeping everything else as it is would be the way to go.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

Yup I expect changing the seat will be fine, removing seats, however, may not be . . .

There are likely to be a load of regs changes in the next year or two, mainly making the definition of 'road going' much more strictly 'road going' which will likely mean that removing seats, interior trim, etc will become a problem . . .

This is an alignment of the Scottish regs with those that already apply in England (and are basically strictly blue book rather than much less strict versions used in Scotland today) . . . this isn't making many people happy as it will probably move lots of cars into classes which the owners don't want to compete in . . . so lots of turmoil . . .

Most of this applies to road going and modified sports/production cars . . . single seaters and sports libre cars are not really effected, so I expect lots of current people to move away from the road going classes into single seaters or sports libre/modified classes on slicks . . . leaving lots of empty road car classes . . . but we'll just have to see how that all pans out . . .
