Steering Rack for S1 elise

Hey, just wondered if anyone has ever replaced the steering rack on their elise s1, when i had my car mot'd the garage said i had some play in the steering rack at the drivers side i just wanted to know if id have to replace part of it or the whole thing and if it has to be the whole thing wheres the best place to get one ?

more than likely you will have a titan streering rack you can recon the rack yourself or send it to titan, not very expensive either. the work is footery but not difficult

Did the recon myself for the grand total of £25, with bits from Titan. As Nizzy says, it's not that difficult, but you'll need a couple of tools to set the loads correctly. Obviously, if you're not mechanically minded, get a garage to take it out (use a decent one though) and send it off to Titan.

Thanks for getting back to me so quick has been a good help will give Titan a phone and get a recon kit, dunno if i would have the guts to try doing it myself but you never know if its easy i might will let u know how i get on ...

what did it cost you in time? Think i'll do mine soon...ish

i have a spare S1 rack that people can borrow, if it helps. Its gubbed, but you could send it away for refurb, then just swap it for yours when you get it back. If it helps you, just shout.
