Mass,
The PP comes with an adjustable ARB but what I think are the regular Exige S non-adjustable Bilsteins and springs - the spring rate on the std setup is 47.5 N/m front and 65 N/m rear (the springs are marked so you could check yours). This is equivalent to 270 lb/in front, 370 lb/in rear. Presumably the same as on your car and we know how much that leans when you are pressing on............ I was finding the std suspension could be overwhelmed at Knockhill, especially through Butchers and into the dip before the chicane, bump stops were encountered and if pushing hard could get a bit out of shape.

Frank,
I got the Nitron road/track set up for Exige S, it is 425 lb/in front, 575 lb/in rear. The normal ride height lets me get in and out of the garage without tw@tting the spoiler and should leave the factory set geometry intact, which suits me for the time being. I will think about lowering and tweaking geo later, but as I am not a racing driver, this will do meanwhile.

I see. The stock suspension set up and the factory geo are little dissapointing to say the least!

It will be interesting to know your thought after Sat!

See you then.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Hey Mass,

Take the camber shims out the front and your car should oversteer less straight away. Problem with adjustable ARB is that if you adjust it to hard and it's raining (and therefore inducing understeer) you'll need to jack up etc to re-adjust and before you know it your track morning/evening is finished. I feel the stock ARB set up is pretty good but for sure overall suspension can be improved, especially for a dedicated track car.

GDR see how it feels @KH..as you have spent the money on the Nitrons it wont cost too much more to replace with the stiffer rear springs if you feel it is still a bit soft. Suck it and see.

FBYI, my car gradually started to feel really strange over the last couple of K miles. Found that the rose joint inner fixings of the rear toe link had worn out. Symptom was weaving on straight ahead especially at speed on the road and understeer changing to snap oversteer on track FFS.

Anyway, Murray's replaced the joints under warranty :thumbsup and the car is now as pin sharp as ever.

Wont get to KH again for a while. Relief! but missing the driving.

Take care,

Frank

You meant understeer less, right?

Plus good ol Geary at Eliseparts used to do some drop links for the ARB that you could loosen a pinch bolt with the car on the deck and reposition. Not sure if that's still available.

Edit - I see he's redesigned them: http://www.eliseparts.com/shop/index.ph ... cts_id=296 and you also need to use his ARB. $$$ouch...

Shug,

It's amazing how easy it is (for me) to say exactly what I dont mean  ..yes, understeer!
