S2 Sports Tourer - Battery Light Showing on Dash

Post by a4drk » Mon Jul 28, 2008 10:16 pm

Driving home tonight, the battery light has come on, on the dash board.
The battery is only a few months old.
What do you reckon this could be ? - Alternator ? ?

So, either the fan belt is burst
or the alternator is knackered.....
Knowing my luck, it will be the dearer option...............

Cheers

Or the wiring to the back of the alternator has broken.

Or the muckle 80A fusible link in the alternator charger connection to the battery has broken.

Cheers,
Robin

Car is in the garage at the moment.
As I said earlier - my luck with cars - it's always the dearsest option.
Alternator knackered.
Murrays want £238 + VAT for a new one.
Eliseparts.com want £140 + vat + postage.
