dont worry about it!

I get it if the car has been sitting outside in heavy rain. :|

I have absolutely no idea if its meant to do it or not!!!

The door seals the sill rail and the door into an ideal pockt for water to collect in, it has nowhere to go until you open the door and get we feet.

TADTS its a standard feature on all Elise variants, it assumes that as its been raining you have muddy feet so washes them for you. Like cup holders, Lotus was hoping it would catch on and so they would be ahead of the crowd. Sadly this opportunuity has been passed up by the major manufacturers in favour of rubbish adverts and cheap plastic cubb holes for your dentures/lint/nick nacks/junk

These days if my cars beeen out in heavy rain I think water falling out from the door when I open it is a good sign as it means it hasnt made it inside the cabin :D When my roof leaked badly I never got any water when I opened the door so it seams that it collects there when its being channeled away properly.

hehe well nearly 9 months of getting soaked whenever it rains certainly makes you glad the water is collecting somewhere that takes it outside the car instead of in it even if you do have to watch for getting a wet foot when you open the door.

It used to collect in the doors of the SI Then pour in the doors at the base of the door cards on corners if you didnt open both doors before driving off ~ think because I need to reseal or replace the Plastic sheeting behind it or replace the door to glass seal

the silver one only let water on when I had the window open ~ still thinking on a hardtop option if its going to spend the winter outside and in the city

I love my hardtop, however beware, it doesn't reduce window leaks very much and is more about comfort and refinement than rainproofing :-)

It does stand up to the winter very well though and lets your soft top take a rest...keeps the heat in the car a lot better too.

Many people deride the hardtop but personally I love it It gives the car another look and it is a bit more comfy, I recently got some new finishing caps for the screw holes and they are a pita so don't :P if you set the windows properly they don't leak

My pax door does that, but not my drivers door oddly.

My hardtop leaks more than my soft top.

I bought a Punto for the rain...
