Don't you have a 4-2-1. De-cat and janspeed supersport ? and doesn't this combination make all forms off speakers irelivent ?

Ive got exactly that so fitted Infiniti reference 5 1/2" co-axials and they sound really good for the size, can even hear some bass at motoway speeds

Hey Nizzy, I do indeed but it's getting fitted at the moment so I've not heard it yet :( I heard the 4-2-1 doesn't make it that much noisier but the de-cat will make it louder... but still quieter than Philty's exige as it's the same manifold but I don't have the individual throttle bodies and induction kit which sound awesome. I would just like to hear a bit of base without the horrible distorsion the weedy Alpines give.

I find infinity and JBL a bit tinny and prefer the warmer sound of some pioneers or focals as I have focals in my Esprit and DLS in my Borat. I need to know what size will fit in the car though so I can go a huntin.... :) so it's 5,1/2" i need but what depth is my max??? ..... Is 5, 1/2" not a bit small? is that not only about 125mm? I was expecting more like 165 or 170mm speakers in there?

Mark :?

P.S Nizzy have you fiited the inflatable banana to your car yet of are you like me and it's still in the packaging?

I dont like infinitys either but TBH the mounting is so dire that you ownt get any speaker to sound very good.
I can let you hear mine at the AMP3 track night.

Ah that's why my Ipod fm transmitter thingy isn't giving the best reception... I'd try and dynomat the enclosure and get as good a speaker as poss inside it, I cahnged the head unit to a top of the range Pioneer and that made a huge difference..... :thumbsup

Mark

P.S thanks Phil if I'll def be up for a wee listen if I'm there mate... when is it??

If you're that worried about sound quality, stop using a damn FM transmitter thingy

I assume that's why I get very poor radio reception too.

Oh, if/when you do get some decent speakers/sizes, can you post up your findings / decisions please, i've just fitted a new head unit and now that the sound quality is approaching decent, I feel the lack of bass is annoying...
