A big hammer!!!

Stuck, as in you can't get the drums off, or stuck as in the wheels won't turn?

First resort - put it in 4wd and drive... it might unstick with a bang.

Are you sure its the drums an not the handbrake? The handbrake is on the transmission and will be damaged if you try to drive with it on, the drums on the '53 are scarily sh!te but the handbrake is scarily effective.

Otherwise its wheels off and wallop each drum with a big hammer until they do unstick.

All I can think of is backing off the wear adjuster and gently tapping with a hammer.

I had mine seize and it was the friction material from one of the shoes has come off and got wedged underneath the other.

Might be worth taking the drum off and having a quick looksee.

(Taking the drum off can be fun too, as over time the shoes wear a groove into the drum, and then you can nae get the drum off because the shoes are holding it place...grrr...got to love a Landy. )

Boiling water and a bit of omph :thumbsup

Boiling water thrown over the drums - ideally a two person job so that both can be done at the same time and then give it a bit of welly - should free off with a bang - just make sure there's nothing/no one in front of you when you go!!

Might need a few applications of the boiling water tho.

...thanks guys, sound advice. Wheels off and a few wallops with a hammer did the job (that's my kind of mechanical level).

Cheers, :thumbsup
