Just back,

He managed to get the thing out my eye it was metalic but luckily it was non ferrous, so no "rust rings" to be dug out  The guy poked the thing out with a needle that almost made me sea sick as it took a fair bit of prodding so cream to be put in for the next couple of days and all should be well.

But my dismal failure on the letter thing makes me think I should go get new glasses and maybe wear them.

the NHS is great :D

Glad you're OK, no permanent damage?

(I seem to remember one of us saying "I'll just pay someone" and the other one saying "Naw it'l only take a few minutes" )

No probs, other than the 2 hours in casualty and the 3 hours gently hacking the old one off with the angle grinder. I enjoyed it :D
