eeek, dusty past the filter? oh oh!

aye, there were two types of MAF sensors on the scoobies..

The older ones <my99 had a certain type that was ok. The ones from 1999 onwards had another type that had their readings affected by oil contaminating the sensor.
It caused the sensor to underread the air - that caused too little fuel for the air - the mixture goes leaner and leaner - engine overheats - problems...
My car was caught early enuff coz im a sensitive kinda guy ;)
Noticed it wasnt going right.
Airfilters might sound nice, but im not gonna take the risk on that again.
I put in good petrol and oil - so i making sure its good air too! ;)
If i could find a dry filter that took out as much or more dust then id fit that, of course :)
When i sold my scoob, at 60k, it was remarked how much torque the car had - guess it was running sweet :)
Bit concerning that that much dust got past the filter... dont let lotus see that!
Id keep the std box on :)
bet u notice no real difference in power ;)
just get a real snake!
