Throttle linkage options

Post by campbell » Fri Feb 20, 2009 5:10 pm

My DIY fix to the pedal-to-cable linkage assembly is starting to unwind. Only been about four years so that ain't bad I think!

Anyway, I know of an Eliseparts "upgraded" version which reliable sources tell me is not necessarily the best.

Have had a suggestion of looking into an S2 linkage "upgrade".

And have also read Dr Al's DIY approach here:

So anyone got any views? Needs to get sorted before Donnie.

Liz parts one on mine is fine as long as the bolts aren't overtight :?

Thanks.

Is it any better than the original?

Much - mine is the only part of the throttle system on mine that's bulletproof. So much less dead travel on the pedal it's not funny...

If you over tighten the bolts the throttle sticks open...

In traffic...

At 4k rpm....

Thanks fellas.

McKean had mixed results with his but we are going to do some triage first, may not need one but if I do, I think I'm game to try the Eliseparts version based on what you are telling me.

cheers
