Servicing in Ayrshire?

Post by Trixster » Sun Apr 26, 2009 7:53 pm

Hi all,

The Elise's service isn't due until the end of the year but can anyone recommend a decent Lotus Specialist in Ayrshire, preferably near to Troon/Prestwick/Kilmarnock?

Also, which bodyshops/sprayers can people recommend? I'd like to get the sills resprayed and ideally I'd take the car down to StephenM at Pheonix Motorsport in Accrington, but it's a bit of a trek. Anyway good that's closer?

Cheers.

For the body shop Steve Walkers :thumbsup but may be a bit far away for you, sure the west coasters will be along with their recommendations.

Shug and I take our cars to a place in Tarbolton, about 8 miles from you for serviceing and oil changes. They're not Lotus specalists, but do specalise in classic and motorsport vehicles. Scottish Lotus Services are just outside of Edinburgh, Murry's main Dealer's are just inside Edinburgh and Dan Jude, formerly of JPS, has set up himself again somewhere not too far over the border IIRC.

I had my car painted by Goudies at Kilmaurs, just north of Kilmarnock, last year. They did a good job. :thumbsup

Thanks for the replies.

I'd rather not use a main stealer as I want some value for my money! Interested to hear that Dan's set himself up again - I used to use JPS when I was stationed at Leeming so Ill try and find out his details. Any one have a contact?

Scottish Lotus Specialists look a good bet - any experience of them? Their pricing doesn't look the cheapest around though.

I've got no issues with travelling across to Steve Walkers if that's considered a good option for the respray. I happily travelled just as far to Horizon when I was based near Shrewsbury.

Hi Dan.

Good to hear from you. You'll have some business off me later this year!

I've used Goudies in Kilmaurs (just outside Kilmarnock) a couple of times for stone chips and the like. Well priced and good work.

Sounds like Goudies is an option then.

Anyone know of a place that'll fit Armourfend/VentureShield or the like? I want to get the sills covered when I get around to having them resprayed.

They did the standard bits on my car, not sure if they can do more?

Meant to say they've done a number of Elises now and prep'd and painted Colin Mcrae's MK2 Escort shell.
