Thanks for the very detailed guide as how to scare the life out of an amateur! Sounds like it should be simple enough but could easily go horribly wrong! Was planning to change discs and pads at the weekend and was considering doing the hose as well

Does anyone know how long it would take (i.e. cost) for Ali at SLS to do it? I ordered the hose from eliseparts last night so might be with me tomorrow, just in time for the sun to go away! :)

Cheers

When Ali did it took about an hour to an hour 1/2 to do the job itself including bleeding

although Mine was a honda we had a trip into Pertek hose's dealer to get the correct fitting for Honda as the Eliseparts kit just includes the K fittings
the guy in the Edinburgh depot was amazed how much we'd paid for the kit they could make something the same up for a fraction of the price if you know what fittings you need of take them along

hi,

the guys here are all right, yes get ALi or Dan to do it, they certainly have all the tools and the knowledge and will do an excellent job they have done for me in the past. The detail is just a step by step, would probable take you a couple of hours. If your gears are gubbed you can't get it to SLS so why not give it a go, just dont get brake fuild on your bodywork it will strip the paint off

I did mine, it wasn't too bad but ended up taking me quite a while.

My main issue was that I missed one of the cable ties on the old pipe, and couldn't get the fatter end of the braided pipe through it / it had moved right inside the sill.

Tuts run it through the cabin theory would be the easiest way.

I also had some trouble bleeding the brakes, if it doesn't seem to be working, take the front callipers off and bleed them upside down (which I believe is actually the right way up...). Air tends to sit in the bottom part. It might be worth noting that I replaced the brake pipes at the same time, so that may have lead to this.

Guys

Car is booked in with Ali @ SLS for a week on wednesday so fingers crossed we dont have any more heatwaves till then!

Although I'm fairly sure that we wont, that was probably our summer over this week!
