supercharger question

Post by twisted2fit » Mon Aug 17, 2009 3:41 am

hi

was looking up aftermarket superchargers for the 2zz elise/exige variants. Was wondering if one sourced a kit minus the supercharger and bought a cheapish second hand supercharger would it make for a cheap upgrade.

My understanding is that the mercedes slk230 uses a eaton m62 which is what i think comes in a lot of the kits and the the exige/elise sc. One would buy the kit minus the supercharger ths having all the brackets wiring etc

i dont have an engineering/mechanical background so sorry if i have oversimplified the task.

It'll never be that simple ... also you'll struggle to persuade the kit suppliers to sell you everything except the s/c I think.

Cheers,

personalyy if i was to do this type of upgrade I would want new everything.

I would not mess around with a charger which had been used on another car, will probably prove more costly in the long run!
