Guys,
how are the drivetrains coping on your supercharged exiges/elises....? I understand that the drivetrain is one of the weaker areas on our yota cars...
Sometimes I wonder about upgrades etc but start worrying about the next weakest link failing...eg, the grip offered by A048s making our rear track rod ends failing fairly soon....might be reduced be wearing a less grippy rubber....
...is the increased torque wearing the drivetrain sooner?
Cheers,
Michael

you can wait for your gear box to strip the gears of your 3rd gearwheel due to flexing secondary shaft.
no solution for that except for a fancy peddle box ( at £ 15000 + )

I believe they are fine until you go beyond 260bhp......ish.
TRD is the replacement of choice I think....ask Gazoo.

I read that the gearbox is OK until you get up around the 200lb/ft mark which would be somewhere in the region of 260+ bhp. After which there is number of option TRD, different gearbox with adapter plate (ala Ronin) or the ridiculously expensive sequential box.

Craig had his up to 310hp but did not own it long enough for gearbox problems to show.

Standard power can still have problems, heat is an issue.
Clutches (even uprated TRD) don't last long compared to K series variants.
Double shear rear toelinks (tie bar style) can still fail...

Had my exige S for 2.5 yrs. and have done 23500miles so far. Admitedly I'm not a track day fanatic, more a spirited tourer (2 days on a track with the Exige so far) .I've had the rear track rod ends replaced once, and I'm currently having the bushes replaced on the rear wishbones (they were all knackered..).
I'm aware of some drivetrain shunt between 1st and 2nd, although this is not serious ,but 3rd gear is to be engaged gently when cold..
Other than that, I'm very impressed with it so far..
