During my weekly wash (the car

) i have noticed a small crack / stone chip in my windscreen.
Has anyone on here ever got these fixed in the ABZ area? Do you contact your insurance first?
Thanks
Kev

I got my windscreen replaced last year, due to a huge chip. I phoned my insurance company who then passed me on to the windscreen company. I had to organise with them and the insurance company to put the car in somewhere to get the front clam removed. I used Ricky Gauld when he was at Coachhouse in Dyce, which are no more, but he's back in Huntly. The insurance company picked up the tab minus the excess.

Had a chip repaired by Autoglass via A-plan insurance. They came out to my work in Banchory and did it (travelled from Dundee I think), no cost to me. A-plan organised it all.
So long as chip less than 5p piece in size apparently OK to fix and it usually is FOC from insurance company. Otherwise the full windscreen replacement will cost you the excess and needs to go to someone who knows what they are doing due to clam off job.

i will contact A-plan tomorrow and ask them to get it arranged - think its just the size of a 5 pence piece so fingers crossed
Better stay away from severe bumps on the road - although thats quite difficult in aberdeen

Stay away from Autowindscreens. What a pain in the arse it was when they did my screen replacement.
