Centre wiper conversion

Post by Ferg » Thu Oct 01, 2009 11:05 pm

I notice that one of the cars I want to enquire about has the windscreen wiper up the middle (ish) of the screen.

Is this conversion common? There is a kit available to centrally park the wiper. TBH I don't like it, it looks poor IMHO and would want to remove it.

So the question is, how does this conversion work? Is it easy to remove?

On the other hand, it might not be a conversion and just be a bust wiper motor, is this a known/common fault? I did a quick search and couldn't find much about this.

Your input is appreciated.
cheers
:D

More likely to be a "turning off the ignition when the wipers half-way across the screen" conversion.

Easily reversed by turning on the ignition, then the wipers off :P

Best bet is to post up ads of cars you are looking at - as there are loads of us on here who have looked at thousands (literally) of Elises in the last few years and will spot stuff straight away. If its the millennium one on eBay then watch out, as scottyC had one of those and you dont want to end up with a car he used to own

lol, yeah, but I'd thought that anyone would at least consider that they should park the wipers properly before taking a picture!
I hadn't seen it on ebay, some random dealer site, but yes thats the car.

Is that a Millenium Special Edition avoidance warning then? I didn't really just want to post on every car I'm looking at at this stage as it would be a nuisance on the board if everyone did that. Whats the best way to go about that and where on the forum?

I do like the colour and spec and looking past the dealer drivel it might be worth a look.

:damnfunny

Milleneum editions are fine per se- Scotty, deserved or not, just has a reputation for running cars in quite thoroughly...

There's plenty of expertese here. JJ for example has bought and sold more Loti than Murray's.

If you're looking at a car seriously, though, post it up- sure you'll get plenty of advice. Some of it even useful!
