I'd forgotten Shug knew about the steering being off when I got my car done at CLCM, was about to mention it.

There were no problems at all when I sat in the car holding the wheel with my foot on the brake though. I'd still use him again, but never just leave the car with him.

Touche sir..... :damnfunny

(fine thanks - I've glazed the pads with commuting though, so some excessive speed will need to be shed over the weekend...)

just back from CLCM. Got the front wheels rebalanced finally after spanner monkey at budget did a crap job. Turns out they were 70g out on one side, and 90g out on the other. That is quite a lot  , hence the hideous vibrations. When he stuck the wheel on the machine, he put it on the cone shape spike, and then secured it through the bolt holes. do i remember correctly that this isn't the best way?? Anyway, balance feels spot on now.

All was fine until he lowered the car. Dragged the jack out from the drivers side, and caught the underside of the sill(no rubber pad on top of jack)  :x  has scuffed it through the paint. feel frustrated as MMC use him all the time and he's jacked loads of Elises etc. I can't very well stand there and tell him how to do his job. Just feel a bit frustrated/sad that however careful you are, when stuff's getting done to your car, it's at the mercy of someone else. and sh*t seems to go wrong. lesson of the day: learn how to do this sh*t myself and get a house with a big garage with loads of tools in it.

FFS :( Did he offer an apology? He's liable for damage he causes you know - a discount to cover a touch-up would not be out of the question...

no apology. was standing right behind him when it happened. charged me £9. What does a touch up kit cost?? Don't know if I want to give myself the stress of going back to him. was going to buy a touch up kit anyway, as I'm getting defendall done on the front. at the moment i have one tiny chip on a pristine resprayed clam(touch wood) so worth the expense.

also you can't see it from the side of the car. it's just farking annoying.

Stress? Give him fcuking stress!!! He's scratched your pristine motor with you standing there. I'd have done well not to smack him one!

Get onto him - I know you're a nice bloke and don't want to cause nausea, but this isn't on.....
