I think Jamie Allison had them on his old Exige, although pretty sure he had the 4 pot calipers as well.

I have Stu Pollocks MutsNuts ali-belled/grooved discs combo with Carbotech XP10 pads and Motul RBF600 fluid, by far the best combination I have had and much cheaper than splashing out on AP big brake upgrades that are probably overkill for trackdays.

If anyone is speaking to Stu, ask him to make up a batch of discs, I'll be needing new rears soon :thumbsup
Any idea of the costs of these MutsNuts ali-belled/grooved discs and if they are currently available?

Was Stu not doing them for Yvo at Elise Shop - he wasn't manufacturing them under the "muts nuts" name as the insurance was OTT? I may be wrong - send him a PM, or speak to him at TT.

I think Stu has stopped doing his own ali-belled discs. I got the AP ones from him recently for a better price than I could see them anywhere else and they look the business. Seem to stop the car quite well too! Drop Stu160 a PM and I'm sure he'll sort you out.

Hey all,

I did my first track day in the Elise last night (in the p!ssing rain) and was amazed by the brakes (feel more than anything). I do want to get new discs and pads all round however as there isn't much left on them atm.

I currently have Mintex 1144's fitted and I think they are a great pad (had them on my VX220 as well) but I was wondering what the best discs would be to buy for 4-10 track days a year and weekend blats. I hear the EBC grooved and dimpled discs are good?

Also, can anyone point me in the right direction for the best place to get these are (or any alternatives posted)

Much thanks

-Mark.

JRT normally are a decent price for the EBC discs... either that or try EBC Direct & use the RX8OC discount code for a bit of cash off (if you had the foresight to take a note of the code before your membership expired... like a certain other tightwad :thumbsup )

I most certainly did not Andy! ( too stupid to think of that  )

If said code was to find its way into my inbox no further questions will be asked.......

EBC turbogrooves have been great on my car for years now, had a couple of sets. Good VFM IMHO.
