Tyre Fitting Edinburgh

Post by Ron » Tue Sep 11, 2007 8:51 am

Just ordered a set from Murrays. Is the best bet to pick them up and take them to CLCM myself instead of having Murrays fit them for me?

Is there anywhere else in Edinburgh or is CLCM fine?

Cheers

Ron :)

Direct with CLCM is £10 a tyre, Murrays charge £15 even though CLCM do it for them...

Pronto Mobile Tyres are excellant. Ali (SLS) gave me the guy's number and he's excellant (plus handy as he comes to you). Very careful with the wheels, and very precise with the balancing. £10 a corner for fit/balance/disposal.

Cheers dude, called Stevie and he offered to come round on the spot to fit my boots for £40! Put him off till Monday and he is coming to the office to fit.

Reckon he could be the man to use when buying your rubber online.

Funnily enough, Stevie of Pronto tyres popped round today, and I totally forgot to ask him about doing Elises.

I guess I've got my answer now though ;)

I think that Ali (SLS) is based very near where Stevie used to run Miniweld garage from?

I've known Stevie for years, and have had quite a few tyres balanced by him (can fit Mini ones myself) ;)

He also has a flat bed recovery truck, which comes in handy for moving dead cars about ;)

Came round yesterday and did a sterling job in the pissing rain. Did not use a gun on the wheels, balanced & valved all spot on.
I was in meetings so set generic pressure as could not find anything on the door plate and informed me of this when handing over.

Will be using again. :thumbsup

I must be his #1 supporter. Had Stevie round at the office today to put some new 38s on the rims for the weekend.

Took 45 mins for two tyres, what did I care I was in a meeting at the time! Difference is he did it proper like.

I was pretty impressed when he showed me the ~1/2 kilo of weights that were on the two wheels caused by someone not knowing how to use their balancing tools. He used a fraction of the weights. This lad knows his stuff.

Anyways another thumbs up, came to the office, I supplied the tyres and he fitted balanced and disposed. £20

:thumbsup

This Stevie guy sounds great.

However CLCM always get our business, so perhaps depending on convenience reqmts, one or other may be more suitable for you. Should not go wrong either way though!

No idea but Willie at CLCM is always a reliable bet, albeit around £13 a corner if you are bringing your own tyres. Book early to avoid disappointment though.
