Re: Door freezing (Audi TT)
Well....after my door finally gave up closing altogether, I had to drive home from the supermarket with the door tied to my leg to keep it closed over.....so I took it to audi.
Apparently its a known manufacturers fault with the door cabling, so both doors were fixed under warranty. I think the freezing temperatures just made the problem worse....

Re: Door freezing (Audi TT)
I guess similar to stuck hand brakes - it's moisture frozen in the cable then.craig1983 wrote: fault with the door cabling, .
When I had my Elise, it would regularly be frozen of a winter's morning; I would use an extension cable and my wife's hair dryer to warm the lock. Putting hot water in only adds more moisture to a problem already caused by moisture where it should not be!
GT85 FTW. The AA also advise to grease the rubber door seals - something I have never done, and probably would not bother with.
I was using a freelander a few weeks ago, the rear door has a frame-less window, which means when you open it, the window drops a wee bit; fine until it froze, and then I nearly pulled the glass out the door when opening it. I guess the TT has a similar arrangement with it's doors with the frame-less windows? If the window does not drop, is there a safety mechanism to prevent you opening the door??
