I guess its up to your own preference but I would have a TPS for load every day of the week. One of the big differences when I went emerald on a S1 was the throttle response. Then on going to a Honda it felt dampened somehow, same with the 2zz. Went back to TPS with the 340 and all was good with the world again. I guess with big power it maybe helps smooth things out?
As regards maps base ones are provided with the emerald software and Ill bet there will be one which is 99% of the way there.
