I'd be very surprised if they modified the wheels like that. Take the wheel off, knock the centre cap out and measure from the inside of the wheel hub to the outer point of it (where the cap would be). I'll do the same on mine and if it's the same, you've got the wrong one. The bolts on mine are not flush with the wheel so I'm sure it must be wrong. That means you've effectively got a 20mm wider track on one corner only!!

Phil's car on the left, mine on the right.
You can see Phil's bolts but because my wheel is 20mm wider, the bolts are recessed.

I'd give the technical guys @ lotus a call and ask if the casting was changed

You're right, it's not like mine. When you said there was extra on the hub, I assume the inside but it's actually on the outside of the wheel! It does look like it'll be the correct offset but the wheel now looks different from the rest. Wonder why they did that :?

Got this reply from Lotus :
*********************

Hi Philip,

The casting detail of the roadwheel was changed by the manufacturer to the design with which you have been supplied. The later wheel is improved and supercedes the earlier type, which is no longer available. Please do not be concerned about the detail aesthetic difference; just enjoy the update.

As far as the transmitter fob is concerned, this should obviously work consistently. I suggest you try replacing the battery first of all, and cleaning the battery contacts. Otherwise it may be necessary to order a replacement fob from your dealer.

Hope that helps,
kind regards
Caroline

That's right, just enjoy the 'update' that Lotus have provided to make one of your wheels different from the rest :protest

You can't see both sides at once anyway :thumbsup

Or you could demand another wheel to match... (good luck!)

A friend of mine in work got a new wheel (under warranty) for his Warrior because one of the wheels was corroding. The new wheel looked really different from the rest and so he complained and ended up getting a whole new set of 4 wheels so that they matched.

I know it's not the same situation as yours was not warranty work, but maybe worth a try?
