Exige S2 rear screen change

Post by Kinger » Thu Aug 09, 2012 11:20 pm

Hi,

My rear screen shattered tonight at KH, can anyone advise what kind of job it is to change the rear screen.

Not had a look at how to see how its fitted yet, don't know if its a clam off job or if it can be fitted from inside the car. I will have take the seats out to get rid of the glass to start with.

Cheers

If you are replacing glass with glass - clam off.
Flexi polycarbonate replacements can be manipulated and sealed with clam in place
I would suggest you have a go after removing your seats /vacuuming out glass

Hi Ian,

Do youhave any idea where I could get a Plexi-glass rear screen for an S2, I've managed to find them for S1's but can't find anything for S2's, any pointers welcome.

Cheers

Side note Kinger: track Scotland seems to have a lot of complainers from the session. Too many cars, bad etiquette? How did you find it?

Hi,

The screen shattering was just one of these things, I had eased off on the main straight to let an Atom passed and must have been hit by a flying stone. Like i said just a hazard of track days.

As for the etiquette, it was nowhere near as good as the SIDC days, a lots of cars there ( approx 55 ) for the 2 hour session and quite a few red flags too. Although passing was supposed to be on the right I was passed by and EVO on the left under waved Yellow's Between Clark and the chicane, some of the other SE'ers had similar expieriences. A lot of quality cars, think at least four 911's, and some not so quality cars. All in all I had a great night ( apart from broken window ) and would still go back on these KH open session nights.

Reverse track in the dry was great.

Cheers

I was up for a nosey, spoke to clarky.

That's the busiest I've seen KH on a track day, thought there must have been 50+ cars there, and a great deal of them on at the one time.
As stated, quite a few offs, I seen two of them. KH were not to quick either in my opinion at the recovery. Nice range of cars on, few hot hatches, scoobys, couple of EVoS, some porkers and the lotuses. Who was in the green lotus that went off at the chicane. Lucky recovery, or skill, lol to get off with it. The Chicaine managed to catch quite a few out.
From what I seen, few on track in the exceptionally slow brigade, but failing to let folk pass!!

Glad in a way I never got on, just to busy for my liking, and for a day like that, track insurance a must.
